Ministry of Arts and Culture Marks Sega Day with Ravanne Workshop for Children<\/strong><\/p>

To celebrate Sega Day, the Ministry of Arts and Culture organised a ravanne workshop for children aged 4 to 17 years at R\u00e9sidence Mangalkhan, offering them a unique opportunity to discover and connect with an important part of Mauritius\u2019 cultural heritage.<\/p>

The workshop was marked by moments of learning, sharing and cultural transmission, as participants were introduced to the history and practice of the ravanne, an iconic instrument of Mauritian sega. At the end of the activity, each child received a ravanne, allowing them to continue their musical journey at home.<\/p>

The Minister of Arts and Culture, Hon. Mahendra Gondeea, OSK, highlighted the importance of passing on cultural traditions to younger generations and expressed his wish to replicate this initiative in several regions across the island.<\/p>
