Mahendra Gondeea, participated in the workshop and emphasised that protecting the country\u2019s heritage also requires providing institutions with the appropriate legal framework and tools to act effectively.<\/p><p>Hon. Gondeea highlighted Government\u2019s approach of encouraging consultation and dialogue before legislation is brought before the National Assembly. The contributions and recommendations gathered during the workshop will help refine the draft and contribute towards the establishment of a stronger and more effective framework for heritage protection.<\/p><p>The proposed National Heritage Authority Bill represents an important step in reinforcing the mechanisms available for the preservation, management and protection of Mauritius\u2019 cultural heritage.<\/p><p>The Minister expressed his appreciation to the National Heritage Fund, as well as to all participating officers, ministries and institutions for their valuable contributions to the discussions.<\/p><p>He also thanked the Government of France, the Embassy of France in Mauritius and Expertise France for their support and cooperation in Mauritius\u2019 ongoing efforts to
