The Marathi community came together with great enthusiasm in Dagotière to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi at national-level. This event was organized by the Mauritius Marathi Mandali Federation, in collaboration with two parastatal bodies under the aegis of the Ministry of Arts and Culture: the Marathi Cultural Centre Trust and the Marathi Speaking Union.

The celebration, vibrant and full of emotion, provided an opportunity to share traditions, music, and devotion centered around the benevolent figure of Lord Ganesha. Attendees enjoyed exceptional artistic performances by both Mauritian artists and special guests from Maharashtra, adding a unique international and cultural dimension to the festival.

During the event, the Minister highlighted:
“With wisdom and patience, every obstacle can be overcome.” This serves as a reminder for us to carry this strength in our daily lives, just as Ganesha, the God of knowledge, prosperity and the remover of obstacles ,teaches.
