British High Commissioner explores cultural collaboration in courtesy call

The Minister of Arts and Culture, Hon. Mahendra Gondeea, OSK, received H.E. Mr. Paul Brummell CMG, British High Commissioner to Mauritius, for a courtesy call at his office.

The meeting provided an opportunity for an open and constructive exchange on strengthening bilateral ties in the field of arts and culture. Discussions focused on the potential to forge new avenues of collaboration between Mauritius and the United Kingdom, highlighting the value of cultural diplomacy as a bridge between nations.

Minister Gondeea described the encounter as both “enriching and inspiring,” noting his appreciation of the High Commissioner’s genuine interest in the richness of Mauritian culture. “His sincere appreciation and keen interest in our cultural heritage was deeply touching,” the Minister said, while expressing optimism for future partnerships.

Hon. Gondeea also extended his best wishes to Mr. Brummell for a successful and fulfilling tenure in Mauritius, underscoring the Government’s commitment to fostering stronger cultural exchanges with international partners.
