Strategic Consultation Workshop on the Preservation of Mauritian Heritage
A strategic consultation workshop dedicated to the preservation of Mauritian heritage was organised in the framework of cooperation with Expertise France, with the support of the Embassy of France in Mauritius and the Ministry of Arts and Culture.
On this occasion, the Minister of Arts and Culture, Hon. Mahendra Gondeea, OSK, reaffirmed the Government’s strong commitment to heritage preservation, emphasizing that safeguarding the nation’s heritage is not an option, but a national responsibility.
This international collaboration reinforces a clear ambition: to better structure, modernise, and ensure sustainable financing for the protection and promotion of Mauritius’ architectural heritage. It also marks a decisive step towards moving from assessment to concrete action.
