Cultural Desk (One Stop Shop): Working Session Held with Key Stakeholders

A working session was held with key stakeholders involved in the implementation of the Cultural Desk (One Stop Shop), an important Government initiative aimed at facilitating and simplifying procedures for the organisation of concerts in Mauritius.

The meeting, chaired by the Minister of Arts and Culture, Hon. Mahendra Gondeea, brought together representatives of the different authorities involved in the approval process, including the Mauritius Police Force, Local Authorities, the Accountant-General’s Department, the Ministry of Health and Wellness, the Mauritius Society of Authors (MASA), and the Mauritius Fire and Rescue Service.

Discussions focused on the main challenges currently faced by concert organisers and on ways to improve coordination among the different authorities, with a view to accelerating and simplifying the processing of applications.

Particular attention was given to the proposed process flow, as well as to the specific timeframe to be allocated to each authority. The objective is to establish a clear, coordinated and efficient mechanism that will considerably reduce administrative delays for organisers.

The Cultural Desk forms part of the Government Programme and is intended to provide a streamlined approach for the permits and clearances required for the organisation of concerts.
