National Drama Festival 2025 Kreol Language

Organised by the Ministry of Arts and Culture

As part of its ongoing efforts to promote Mauritian languages and theatrical expression, the Ministry of Arts and Culture proudly hosted the National Drama Festival 2025 (Creole Edition) – a platform for emerging and experienced talents to showcase their creativity, storytelling, and cultural pride.

This year’s festival witnessed powerful performances from schools, youth clubs, and theatre groups from across the island. The plays explored themes of patriotism, social issues, and everyday Mauritian life with insight, humour, and passion.

  • 🥉 Third Best Play: Karma: Tou action ena konsékanseMGSS Moka
  • 🎭 Best Director: Rajeshwar Seetohul – Vacoas National Arts
  • 🥈 Second Best Director: Rowinraj Naraidoo – Atelier Theatre Pierre Poivre
  • 🏅 Best Actor: Jaynanand Dookhy – Atelier Theatre Pierre Poivre
  • 🏅 Best Actress: Minakshi Devi Domah – Vacoas National Arts
  • 🎓 Best College Team: The Griots of Hassan Raffa SSS

Other special recognitions were awarded to young and emerging talents, including Sudharshiny Daby, Calambé Devon Jamal Easter, Victor Jade Shania Marie Karine, and Larue Neil Vince Lucio, among others, for their outstanding performances.

A special prize was also given for the Best Play on the theme of Patriotism to Mo Pei mo fami mo prioritéSanlyn Drama Group.
