Official Celebration of Rodriguan Culture Day 2026
The official celebration of Rodriguan Culture Day 2026 was held in the presence of the Prime Minister, Dr the Hon. Navinchandra Ramgoolam, bringing together guests and members of the public to celebrate the richness and authenticity of Rodriguan culture.
The event was organised by Mouvement Solidarité Rodrigues and the Nelson Mandela Centre for African Culture, under the aegis of the Ministry of Arts and Culture.
The celebration provided a platform to showcase the traditions, cultural expressions and heritage that form an integral part of the Rodriguan identity and contribute to the cultural diversity of the Republic of Mauritius.
The Minister of Arts and Culture, Hon. Mahendra Gondeea, highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Rodrigues and ensuring that its traditions continue to be valued and transmitted to future generations.
The celebration also served to strengthen the bonds between the different components of the Republic and reaffirm the role of culture as a powerful means of bringing people together.
